Mr. Metz was a Principal Software Engineer in Argonne National Laboratory’s Center for Integrated Emergency Preparedness, Decision and Information Sciences Division (DIS). He led development of the Illinois Emergency Management Agency's Virtual Business Emergency Operations Center (https://onvcp.org/iema) which is a collaboration portal for public and private sector to share disaster intelligence. Mr. Metz led the development of the DHS/FEMA Virtual Joint Planning Office (https://onvcp.org) which supports the initiatives such as: Regional Catastrophic Preparedness Grant Program, Threat Hazard Identification and Risk Assessment (THIRA), and Presidential Policy Directive-8 workshops. Mr. Metz led the development of the Sync Matrix Enterprise software for the Army’s Chemical Stockpile Emergency Preparedness Program (CSEPP) and served as a member of the DHS/FEMA National Exercise Division (NED) Steering Committee, for the Homeland Security Exercise and Evaluation Program (HSEEP) Toolkit.
Mr. Metz received his B.A. in Marketing and Operational Management from the University of Kentucky. He also holds an M.S. in Software Engineering and an M.S. in E-Commerce Technologies from DePaul University.
