Her background includes working in both the Ice cream and confectionery industries. She served as an R&D Director for Mars Chocolate - North America and was responsible for strategy, new product development, and quality systems. Park currently serves as an industry instructor for the Grocery Manufacturers Association (GMA) Better Process Control Schools, the U of MD Joint Institute for Food Safety and Applied Nutrition (JIFSAN) International Training Programs and U of MD Food Nutrition and Food Science Department. Park is an FSPCA Preventive Controls for Human Foods (PCHF) Lead Instructor, and holds an appointment as an Adjunct Expert for the Food Protection and Defense Institute (FPDI) at the University of Minnesota in 2016. Park has received the National Association of Food Equipment Manufacturers (NAFEM) Honorary Doctorate of Food Service Award, the U.S. Army Civilian Patriotic Service Award and Purdue University Outstanding Food Science Alumni Award. Park received a food science degree from Purdue University and is a Lifetime Member of Phi Tau Sigma Food Science Honorary and was elected as an Alternate Councilor-At-Large in 2016.

Dr. Kathy Knutson works nationwide with food manufacturers on recall investigations, problem-solving, training, and Food and Drug Administration (FDA) compliance. After being trained in 2016 as a Lead Instructor with the FDA-recognized curriculum for Preventive Controls Qualified Individuals, she delivered over 20 workshops to industry. With over 35 years in microbiology and 15 years of full-time teaching, Dr. Knutson is passionate about training and is an effective communicator at all levels in an organization. She has taught and consulted with companies on laboratory methods, interpretation of lab results, quality assurance, sanitation, environmental monitoring, Standard Operating Procedures (SOPs), Good Manufacturing Practices (GMPs), Hazard Analysis and Critical Control Points (HACCP) and the FDA’s Food Safety Modernization Act (FSMA). As a life-long learner, Dr. Knutson is trained in prevention of intentional adulteration, a topic on the horizon for the food industry. Dr. Knutson is a contributing author at CannabisIndustryJournal.com.
